Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy

Today’s post is about things that I believe and things that I don’t.

I do believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. And I’ll tell you why. I have evidence of their existence.

Santa Claus – I can write letters to him and he writes back to me. His postal address is available online. He’s a pretty progressive guy these days. I mean sure, I have to concede that maybe it’s the elves writing back on his behalf cause it’s a busy time of year but he certainly hasn’t given up on the art of letter writing.

The Easter bunny – We left out carrots for the Easter Bunny and dummies for the baby bunnies and in the morning they were gone, replaced by Easter eggs.

The Tooth Fairy – they say that cash is king. You lose a tooth, leave it in a pillow with a note and the Tooth Fairy exchanges it for money. Young kids these days seem to get a lot more than I did back in the day!

Now here’s a little about what I don’t believe in…

  • Diet products. They don’t taste very nice and they don’t seem to work either
  • Talented TV programs starring minor celebrities and their newly acquired singing/dancing skills; and
  • I don’t believe in everything I read in the newspapers. I’ve cultivated a healthy scepticism over the years!

So what about you? What do you believe in?

As a full-grown, semi-mature adult I also believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. However, I deny the existence of magic weight-loss plans, programs to develop abs in just three minutes a day, and government solutions (even when sprinkled with the Fairy Dust of good intentions).
