For the love of books

As it’s Valentine’s Day today I thought I would dedicate this post to my love of books.

I bought an ebook reader about a year ago now and find it very useful for train trips and very long books – it’s portable, lightweight and easy to use. The only drawback is that it uses power and today on my train ride it was out of juice! I was a sad faced commuter this morning.

I could almost see my teacher librarian mother smirking when she received my text message this morning.  She quipped “Books don’t need batteries” Mmm. Thanks for the sympathy.

I thought I would leave you with a couple of links to some awesome libraries that I’ve visited around the world.

Trinity College Dublin – Old Library and Book of Kells

Vancouver Public Library – looks like a modern day Colosseum

Bodleian Library (a UK Reference Library) and Radcliffe Camera (a circular shaped library), Oxford, UK

What’s your favourite library and why?
