That’s just cheese on toast innit?

If there is one thing that truly perplexed me during my year living in Wales it was their insistence on calling the humble cheese toastie “Welsh Rarebit

Perhaps it’s just that I was only served the boarding school equivalent of it and that it’s really quite a delicacy that I missed out on. I guess I’ll never know.

Have you every tried a local delicacy while overseas and been let down?

    I thought Welsh rarebit has something to do with onions and special mustard. I made it for dinner once in the 90s.
